About this size

The bronze rectangle is the √3 member of the metallic-rectangle family. The √3 proportion shows up throughout hexagonal geometry (the height of a regular hexagon equals √3 times its half-width), which makes the bronze rectangle a natural pairing for any composition built on hexagonal or triangular structure.

It is also useful as a tall poster format. The aspect feels elegant and elongated in a way the golden rectangle does not, without becoming as extreme as the √5 rectangle.

Pro tips

1 Pairs naturally with hexagonal and triangular layouts. The √3 proportion is built into hexagonal geometry.
2 A practical canvas for tall posters where the golden rectangle feels too short and a 2:1 format feels too rigid.
3 Less common in mainstream design than golden or silver, which gives it a distinctive feel when used intentionally.
