About this size

ANSI B is the engineering label for what print shops call Tabloid. The dimensions are identical; the difference is convention. A Tabloid sheet expects a publication or poster layout, while an ANSI B sheet expects engineering title blocks, revision tables, and a drawing frame around the technical content.

The size is where engineering work first feels like a real plan. Plant layouts at small scale, intermediate assembly drawings, and mid-complexity schematics all fit ANSI B comfortably.

Pro tips

  1. 1 Same physical dimensions as Tabloid. The engineering label differs from the print-shop label, but the paper is the same.
  2. 2 Common for plant layouts and intermediate engineering plans. Larger than ANSI A but still office-equipment-friendly with a Tabloid tray.
  3. 3 Halves cleanly to ANSI A for proofs and reference prints. The ANSI series scales the same way the A-series does.
