About this size
A5 is what an A4 sheet becomes when folded in half. That property makes it the default booklet size in metric regions: print on A4, fold once, get an A5 signature. Most small zines, event programs, and pocket booklets use A5 for exactly this reason.
It is also a comfortable size for invitations and handouts that need to feel more substantial than a postcard. Larger than A6, smaller than A4, fits in most A5 envelopes without custom sizing.

Pro tips
- 1 A common booklet and pamphlet size. Folds neatly from a single A4 sheet, which makes the production pipeline trivial.
- 2 Useful for small invitations, recipe cards, and notebooks. The size feels intentional without being intrusive.
- 3 For booklets, design the spread (two A5 pages side by side) before cutting. The layout reads differently in spread context than as single pages.
