About this size
The 468 by 60 Banner was the dominant ad format of the 1990s and early 2000s web. It has been largely replaced by Leaderboard (728 by 90) at the top of page and Medium Rectangle (300 by 250) inline, but the format persists in some inline placements and as a fallback option for ad networks that need a narrow horizontal slot.
Designing for this format means accepting the constraint: 60 px is even tighter than Leaderboard, and there is room for one image and a single short message before the layout breaks.

Pro tips
- 1 Even less vertical room than Leaderboard. One short message and a CTA is the practical maximum.
- 2 Best paired with larger formats in the same campaign rather than used standalone. The format is a supporting unit, not a lead.
- 3 Typography has to be bold and short. The format is small enough that subtle styling and long copy both fail.
